Zachary Krug - ARTISTIC DIRECTOR

Zachary Krug is thrilled and honored to serve as the new Artistic Director of the Temecula Valley Master Chorale. Zach has served as a music educator, conductor, and freelance musician for the past decade. He taught choral and instrumental music at Birmingham Community Charter High School, Dorothy McElhinney Middle School, and Vista Murrieta High School. Zach’s musical ensembles have a reputation for quality, unity, and excellence, leading them to consistent superior ratings and invitations to perform both in and out of California. Zach has also served as assistant choir director at First Presbyterian Church of Granada Hills and as the music director at Murrieta United Methodist Church. 

Zach served alongside Dr. Joseph Modica as the assistant director for the Inland Master Chorale for three seasons. During his tenure, Zach regularly conducted and performed solos and in small ensembles. Additionally, he served as the chair of the programming and arts committee for the IMC and was an active member of the IMC management team. Since his departure from the IMC, Zach briefly performed with the Southern California Choral Artists based in Temecula. 

Outside of the TVMC, Zach serves as the music director and worship leader at Grace Presbyterian Church in Temecula and as an adjunct music faculty member at Mt. San Jacinto College in Menifee. Additionally, Zach founded and conducts the Temecula Valley Christian Chorus, which performs each summer in Temecula, California. 

Zach holds a Bachelor’s of Music degree in music education and a Master’s of Music degree in vocal chamber music, both from the University of Redlands. He is the recipient of the Jeffrey H. Rickard Endowed Choral Scholarship, the Phi Mu Alpha Collegiate Honor Award, the Thelma Beardsley Memorial Award, and the 2024 Crystal Apple Award from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Zach is an active member of the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA), the California Choral Directors Association (CCDA), the Southern California Vocal Association (SCVA), the National Association for Music Education (NAFME), and an alumnus member of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia music fraternity. 

When he is not conducting, leading, or performing, Zach enjoys spending time with his family, playing baseball, rooting for the Padres, and learning new things. Zach lives in Menifee, California, with his Wife, Adrianna, his two sons, Parker and Charlie, and their golden retriever, Lucy.
